Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo Wants More Outdoor Experiences for Disadvantaged Youth
(Sacramento) - For many disadvantaged and low-income children, sometimes something as simple as going outside to play can greatly improve their quality of life. With Assembly Bill 2614, Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) says new transportation resources can be established to give kids better access to outdoor activities. “We have children who live merely 15 miles from the beach, yet have never seen it or experienced it,” says Assemblymember Carrillo. “No one should be denied such an opportunity, especially when they live so close by.” Watch this Assembly Access video to find out how Assemblymember Carrillo wants to help kids get better quality play time in California.
