Assemblymember Carrillo Bill Prohibits Discrimination in Apprenticeship Programs

(Sacramento) – Building discrimination free apprenticeship programs is the goal of the legislation (Assembly Bill 2358) Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) presented to the State Assembly. The measure prohibits discrimination in any building and construction trades apprenticeship programs on the basis of race, sex, religious creed, or national origin. During her presentation Assemblymember Carrillo said, “Overall, this bill will encourage more women to pursue a career in construction by helping them feel safe and protected while doing their jobs.” Watch this Assembly Access video to learn more about AB 2358 and what Assemblymember Carrillo is doing to support women in the workplace.
