Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez Calls on President Trump to Condemn Recent Attacks on Jewish Community Centers

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Los Angeles —Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement in response to the recent wave of threats made to Jewish Community Centers across the country:

“I am saddened by the recent threats against Jewish community centers across the country, including two bomb threats resulting in evacuations right here in Los Angeles. It should be no surprise that this wave of threats come on the heels of a Presidential campaign that sought to normalize bigotry and turn our diverse communities against each other. It should also be no surprise that this president has failed to specifically condemn the threats. I condemn the threats and call on President Trump to do the same at his joint address to congress tonight.”
