SACRAMENTO - Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo released a statement regarding the Film and TV Tax Credit Program Extension Delay.

“I applaud the leadership of Governor Gavin Newsom and Senator Anthony Portantino for their commitment to the success of California’s groundbreaking Film Tax Credit Program." said Assemblywoman Carrillo.

"As principal co-author of SB 485, and as Chair of the Assembly Budget Sub4 Committee on State Administration, overseeing the California Film Commission which runs the program, my priority has and will continue to be to ensure that diversity and equity are at the forefront of policy discussions where public dollars are used as tax credits. While the bill is not moving forward this year, I look forward to continuing the conversation and ensuring the program is accessible to companies who choose to work in California. In partnership with the Governor and the legislature, I also look forward to engaging the Entertainment Union Coalition, studios and stakeholders in an effort to move forward thoughtful policy. Together, we can ensure the California Film and TV Tax Credit program creates good union jobs, brings back production to our state, strengthens our economy and is inclusive of below and above the line workforce development programs that reflect the diversity of the 40 million that call California home.”
