SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement on Governor Gavin Newsom’s January budget proposal unveiled Wednesday.

“I’m glad to see that Governor Newsom’s budget proposal to accelerate the Exide clean-up amplifies what we’ve done so far. The proposed $50 million one-time expenditure would help clean high-risk properties and provide relief to many families in AD51 and surrounding districts.

LOS ANGELES, CA — In her first year in office, California Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) hit the ground running. Assemblywoman Carrillo had seven of her bills signed into law, honored distinguished community members on the legislative floor, hosted numerous events in the district and represented the state of California on delegations to El Salvador, China and by the end of November, Chile. (Sacramento) - Recent technological improvements to vehicles can have an impact on the air quality in California…and not always for the better. Some manufacturers, most recently Volkswagen, have use technological advancements to take advantage of loopholes in our standards that can set back environmental progress. New legislation by Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) would provide updated tools for the Air Resources Board (ARB) to address the loopholes.

(Sacramento) – In an effort to address a growing crisis among In Home Supportive Services providers Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) presented her Assembly Bill 2872 to the California State Assembly. AB 2872 calls on the California Department of Social Services to invest in peer-to-peer training for IIS workers. “Providers tend to our most vulnerable populations in their homes and have little to no way to obtain one-on-one guidance that will help them keep up with the training standards,” Assemblymember Carrillo said.

SACRAMENTO, CA — Parks access legislation authored by California State Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) to bolster outdoor experiences was signed into law this week by Governor Jerry Brown. The passage of AB 2615 rounds out the previously signed AB 2745 in Assemblywoman Carrillo’s package of bills that emphasize safe and enhanced parks access.

LOS ANGELES, CA  — Legislation authored by California State Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) and sponsored by the Los Angeles Community College District creating a simpler community college online application (CCCApply) was signed Wednesday by Governor Jerry Brown. Assembly Bill (AB) 3101 revises the CCCApply process, eliminating intrusive and unnecessary questions in order to ensure the application is accessible for all applicants, especially first-generation college students, immigrants and adult students.
